About
I am a writer. I have one husband, one child, one dog, two cats, and four
chickens. There's almost nothing I won't tell you. I write a
lot about what life is like being mentally ill. But I also love writing
about everything domestic- what is going on in our kitchen, our garden, and our
other homesteading projects.
It is not difficult to irritate me. I am irritated by: proselytizing, the
mention of the word "Jesus" in the comments, people reading me
scripture, self righteousness, arrogance, saying "lovemaking" instead
of "sex", racism, sexual humor, jokes with punchlines (because if
you're genuinely funny you don't need punchlines and besides- punchlines are
painfully unfunny), people who ask "what is 'normal'?", people who
believe that mental illness can be cured by daily enemas, Republicans, bigots,
anti-gay beliefs, Kathy comics, bad advice, and produce people who don't know
what eggplants are.
It's also not difficult to please me. I am pleased by: comments, sharing
stories, mutually supporting each other, great writing, honesty, kindness,
humor, generosity, food, beer, cheese, other people's "100 things"
lists, happy partnerships of all kinds (and gender combinations), old friends,
open minds, elderly people being heard, people not taking life too seriously,
chickens, evolution, beautiful digital photographs, fresh sheets, learning new
things, everything home made.

a time!
