If you work hard enough, if you work long enough...

Because I am writing this at work, I cannot immediately share the images I am bursting with excitement to show you. I toiled, I mopped the sweat from my brow, I glued a few fingers together... and in the end, (which was five minutes ago) I got it! I finally came up with a box decoration for gift sets that I will be excited to put in my store window and to put in my web store.

It could be dangerous to get this excited about anything, what with my heart palpitations and all. It's racing as we speak. Good design can do that to me.

I have Philip to thank for giving me the nudge I needed. I asked him if he liked what I had so far and he said "So you're not going to cover the box?" I said testily "Philip. The look is supposed to be natural mixed with color. If I paint the box or cover it I will have to charge twenty dollars for it." and he replies "Oh." Damn him. It's so irritating when he doesn't like something I've done and it turns out he's right.

Just a moment ago I sold my first Bitter Betty necklace (though I have one on hold for a friend). I am beyond excited! The lady who bought it is this lovely curvy (pardon me for noticing) husky voiced young asian lady who came in once before looking for covered buttons. I showed her the covered button kits you can get at the fabric store and she was really excited. So I remembered her and her project. She just bought this lovely coral and carnelian necklace for her close friend in Japan. I did an extra special wrapping job for free because I wanted to practice an idea. I took a picture and will share it later.

I better get hopping to finish the newest and best evolution of the Valentine gift box. I think it would be ironic if you all find you liked the other versions way better.
